About Us

Rise Her Initiative was founded on 15th June 2020 by a group of 6 members, with an aim of reaching to the vulnerable girls from slums and dry parts of Laikipia. The 6 members were working in the same organization (Youth Impetus) in Nanyuki. One of the members brought the idea of donating sanitary towels to the vulnerable girls in the slums. Through strategic partnership the team settled on supporting the vulnerable girls in the following areas; menstrual hygiene, mentorship and vocational skilling.

Under the menstrual hygiene we offer Girl Hygiene Kit which comprises of; 2 sanitary towels, 1 petroleum jelly, 1 tissue paper, 1 bar soap, 1 leso and 1 innerwear.

The mentorship program shall focus on drug and substance abuse, early sex exposure and leadership.

Vocational Training Scholarship Program where we sponsor girls from vulnerable backgrounds to increase their employability and also to be able to employ themselves to reduce poverty.

Our Girl Hygiene Kit (GHK) and Mentorship program started with 10 girls from Likii slum in Nanyuki town and 10 from CEDC Children’s Home, Nanyuki.
